Overview

TabPilot is built with a privacy-first philosophy. Our core mission is to provide a universal media remote while ensuring that your browsing data remains entirely under your control.

Data Collection

TabPilot does not collect, store, or transmit any personally identifiable information (PII). We do not track your browsing history or account details.

To provide its remote control functionality, the extension processes the following data locally in your browser:

• Media Metadata: Titles, duration, and playback status of audio/video elements on open tabs.
• Tab Information: Icons and titles of tabs currently hosting media.
• Local Storage: Your UI preferences (volume, speed, theme) are saved on your device only.

Data Transmission

TabPilot does not communicate with any external servers. All processing happens within your browser's private environment. Your data never leaves your computer.

Permissions Use

We only request permissions absolutely necessary for the functioning of the extension:

• Tabs: To identify which of your open tabs are playing media.
• Scripting: To synchronize playback status between your tabs and the remote popup.
• Host Access: To enable control logic on websites that host standard HTML5 media players.

Third-Party Disclosure

We do not sell, trade, or otherwise transfer your data to outside parties. Your browsing activity remains your own.
